Musical Chairs or a Community of the Heart?
A paycheck at any cost?
To fend off starvation, homelessness, and nakedness, and death.
To escape a death of reputation.
Is that the purpose?
Is that the price you pay in your Soul to not fall into the pit of scarcity, in a world locked in to a belief that there is not enough to go around?
To not be the one left without a chair in an ugly game of musical chairs.
I guess it would be even more tragic to play musical chairs on the Titanic.
What if there is a whole other “truth” to choose?
A truth that says the absolute opposite – a full 180 degree other truth that says there are plenty of chairs, so let’s work together to see to it that no one is left chairless.
That is what can be our 21st century community.
I used to think that I had a lot of work to do; to shout it from the rooftops.
And then, Standing Rock showed up!
I am overflowing with appreciation for the generational and ancestral wisdom that my heart is hearing from the voices there, in camp at the river, determined and single-minded, to protect that river! That sacred water! The very life blood of our sacred Mother Earth! … for all of us!
I am overflowing with appreciation for the beautiful demonstration of a community of the heart; showing us all what we can stand up and create in our own local communities!
So easy! … a single and radical simple intentional choice between fear (win/lose), and compassion (win/win)!
